We are seeing interesting new pant shapes for fall on the runways and a few have even landed into boutiques for pre-fall sales. They include, the unbelievably long and skinny, the modern, “slightly flared” bell-bottom and the loose-fit ankle length hybrid. They are showing up in soft herringbone neutrals, slinky black leathers and colorful wools. But what’s most exciting are the few designers who have shown these styles in fabulous, sparkly fabrics including shiny metalics and disco ball blacks. Although it might not be the trend for Fall 08, designers give us a sneak peek at what’s to come in 2009.

Proenza Schouler shows wide-leg disco trousers peaking out of a conservative overcoat.

A little glam, a little military, Moschino’s Rosella Jardini sends her girls marching down the runway in sparkles from head to toe under military, beaded jackets.

Top Gun? Not quite, but glamorously close. Emporio Armani toughens up with aviators, military berets and beaded 80’s parachute pants.
